Those who know me say I am worried, those who do not know ask what it is I want…

As the saying goes, time flies like an arrow. By next year, it has been 30 years since I came to the United States to spread Chinese dance. Before me, there were ancestors who worked hard on this land. However, in terms of the share of multiculturalism, market influence, and works that reflect the high standard of Chinese life, they are far less than other ethnic groups. Compared with the extensive and profound Chinese culture, it is not in one dimension. This makes me feel ashamed and sleepless. Although I know that I am over 80 years old and can do very limited, I just hope to raise this issue with actions to attract like-minded people, especially to pass the baton to the younger generation.

知我者谓我心忧，不知者谓我何求……

正所谓光阴似箭，到明年，我来美国传播中国舞蹈已整整三十年。而早在我之前，就有先辈在这片土地上开拓耕耘。可无论在多元文化中占有的份额，市场影响力，已及反映华人生活的高水准的作品等各方面，都大大不及其他族裔。和博大精深的中华文化相比，更不在一个维度上。这让我心中有愧，寝食难安。虽然自知已年过八十，能做的十分有限，只是希望以行动提出这个问题，吸引志同道合者，特别是能把接力棒传给年轻一辈。
